Permanent Timber Production Zone Land Key

AFS - Defined forest area
The area of land managed by Forestry Tasmania that is certified under the Australian Forestry Standard.

Forest Management Unit (FMU)

  • Controlled Wood component
    The component of the Forest Management Unit (FMU) on Permanent Timber Production Zone and small areas of private property for which Forestry Tasmania has a forest right for which Forestry Tasmania is seeking FSC® (Controlled Wood) Certification.
     
  • Forest Management component
    The component of the Forest Management Unit (FMU) on Permanent Timber Production Zone for which Forestry Tasmania is seeking FSC® (Forest Management) certification.

Informal reserves
The area of Permanent Timber Production Zone land managed for conservation as part of the Tasmanian CAR reserve system (eg habitat for threatened species, streamside protection, landscape connectivity).

Non-production forest
Areas of Permanent Timber Production Zone land not currently identified as being suitable for timber production.

PTPZ
Permanent Timber Production Zone land as defined under the Forest Management Act 2013.
- the area which Forestry Tasmania manages.

Production forest
The area of Permanent Timber Production Zone land currently managed for growing and harvesting timber.

Three Year Plan
Areas where forest harvest and regeneration operations are planned to occur in the next three years.

Potential Chemical Application Summer Key

Herbicide applications
Areas identified as likely to have a herbicide application in 2019/20.

Insect Monitoring Coupes
Areas identified for insect population monitoring in 2019/20 and therefore may have an insecticide application between November 2019 and February 2020.

Insecticide applications completed
The area where insecticide applications occurred in 2018/19.
