Collecting firewood on Sustainable Timber Tasmania Permanent Timber Production Zone (PTPZ) land
Sustainable Timber Tasmania (STT) allocates several areas across the state where firewood can be collected for personal use. STT controls areas available for firewood collection to help protect the forest and maintain the safety of the public.
To collect firewood on PTPZ, you must have a current firewood permit.
Please note:
- Firewood permits are for personal domestic use only and not for commercial ventures;
- A firewood permit is not refundable, under any circumstances;
- The maximum limit per customer for firewood collection on PTPZ is 30 cubic metres per year.

Hunting on Sustainable Timber Tasmania Permanent Timber Production Zone (PTPZ) land
Sustainable Timber Tasmania (STT) allocates Permanent Timber Production Zone land across the state where people can go hunting during daylight hours. STT controls areas available for hunting to help protect the forest and maintain the safety of the public.
To go hunting on PTPZ for rabbit, fox or hare, it is preferred that you have a Permission to Shoot from Sustainable Timber Tasmania and you also must have a valid firearms licence.

- A Permission to Shoot is for personal recreational use only and not for commercial ventures;
and - A Permission to Shoot is not refundable, under any circumstances.
